Murchison Falls National Park is built around the point where the Nile River is forced through a narrow gorge just 7 metres wide before dropping into the falls themselves - among the most powerful waterfalls anywhere by water volume. The park combines savannah game drives with a boat cruise along the Nile to the base of the falls.

Visitable year-round. The dry seasons (roughly December-February and June-September) make game drives easier, with less mud and better visibility.
By road from Kampala, around 5-6 hours. Scheduled flights connect to the park's airstrips in around 1 hour, a popular option given the driving distance.
